KEN NWADIOGBU
Ken Nwadiogbu is a multidisciplinary artist who creates innovative conceptual works that explore black identity and make more visible people of colour, within the context of broader issues. Through his work, he is able to invite viewers to think deeply and critically examine socio-political boundaries present to this day. Gender equality, African culture and Black power are a few aspects of his current research and artistic practice.
In mid 2021 I sat down with Nigerian artist Ken Nwadiogbu at his Studio in London to talk about his story. From almost losing an eye to creating a body of work where the representation of the eye is the main focus; Nwadiogbu talks about his journey into art, raising awareness around African identity and migration with his new show ‘Journey Mercies’ at the Bomb Factory in London.
