OCHUKO OJIRI
Ochuko Ojiri is the Founder and Director of the East London gallery ‘Ojiri Gallery’. The gallery specialises in emerging, early and mid-career artists. They represented the artists Nigel Howlett, Baldur Helgason and Mai Ta and has also exhibited Bianca Nemelc, Austin Harris, Molly Greene and Sean Gannon.
In December of 2020 I sat down with Ojiri to talk about his journey into the art world. From his early beginnings as a collector to his current position as a Gallery Owner.
We also take a look at "Quixotic" a star filled Group Exhibition show casing some of the most exciting emerging talents. An exhibition which aimed to showcase the pursuit of romantic ideals, where your rigid attachment to reality becomes untethered from the burdens of the world. Including the artists Okiki Akinfe, Laure-Mary Couegnias, Claire Colette, Jonathan Edelhuber, Evgen Čopi Gorišek, Nigel Howlett, Royal Jarmon, Phillip Kremer, Laurens Legiers, Katherina Olschbaur, Adrienne Rubenstein, Lily Wong and Hiejin Yoo.
