From Japan, Toru Ishii, holds a Ph.D from Tokyo University of the Arts, with pieces at the Moriaki Museum in Miami and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.


His work depicts news images taken from the internet and paints them from memory. Using the traditional Japanese dyeing technique of Yuzen, used for Kimono textile design. Toru Ishii creates works that humorously depict contemporary society.


Toru Iishi took part in ‘LUCKY CHARM’ a Group Exhibition of 28 International Artists. Presented by Lisa Boudet in association with Moosey Art. Opening the 4th of November 2021 at Hoxton Arches in London, United Kingdom.
